NEBS Certification Program

Curtis-Straus LLC NEBS Certification Program

The Curtis-Straus NEBS Certification Program (NCP) is a value added service provided to manufacturers of telecommunications equipment. The NCP program is designed to provide an independent third party certification of a vendor’s telecommunication product and formally document that it has been tested to and meets the requirements of GR-1089-CORE and GR-63-CORE. Evidence of certification is provided in the form of a certificate, with product labels for client support and promotional plaques for marketing support.

How The Program Functions:

Your product must first be tested to and found to be compliant with all of the NEBS testing requirements that are applicable to your product. The standards most commonly tested to are GR-1089-CORE and GR-63-CORE. Testing to GR-487-CORE is also common. The manufacturer of the product should have used an ISO/IEC Guide 17025 compliant test facility, to assure that all of the test procedures and testing instruments are documented and calibrated respectively. The test lab will then have provided a detailed test report, documenting all of the test results.

Once this process has taken place, the test report will be submitted to the Curtis-Straus Certification Department (CD). The Curtis-Straus CD is a separate facility within our corporate structure that works with our Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB) department, and provides independent certification of any manufactures product regardless of where or at what laboratory the testing occurred. Our Certification Department will review your test report to assure that the tests were properly performed in accordance with standards, that the test results have been documented according to proper procedure, and that the test laboratory is accredited and functioning within the guidelines of ISO/IEC Guide 17025.

Once this process has taken place with satisfactory results, Curtis-Straus will issue you a certificate of conformity stating that your product has been reviewed to the standard and is certified accordingly. We will maintain a record of your certification for any third party to view at their convenience. You will also be responsible for maintaining your certification, and you are required to notify us about changes to your product so that your certification is always current.

When this review is completed, with satisfactory results, you will receive a promotional plaque that you can use for company and product promotion. You also receive product labels that can be placed on the product as further evidence of your achievement.

Please see our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for further detail, or speak with your Curtis-Straus sales professional for further information about this program.
