(Littleton, MA - December 11, 2000) - Curtis-Straus is ready to supply complete NEBS GR-63 testing at their 9,100 sq. ft. NEBS laboratory at 168 Ayer Road in Littleton, Massachusetts. Coupled with their other laboratory which provides GR-1089-CORE testing, Curtis-Straus is now your one-stop-shop serving the NEBS testing community. All core NEBS tests including the fire resistance, environmental, heat dissipation, altitude, airborne contaminants (both mass flow gas and hydroscopic dust), drop, lighting, acoustic tests, earthquake and vibration (office and transportation) are provided directly by at the Curtis-Straus laboratory in Littleton.

The facility features special accommodations for telecom central office equipment. A 400A 48VDC buss distributes power throughout the facility. Environmental chambers have been designed to accommodate tall telecommunications equipment racks with door openings of 8' height. The airborne contaminants chamber is designed to accommodate multiple rack samples to accommodate even the most demanding test schedule.

At Curtis-Straus the job doesn't end with the delivery of the report. Due to the complexity of NEBS standards, often the Regional Bell Operating Company (RBOC) representative reviewing the test report needs further interpretive guidance on particular aspects of a product's compliance.
