Wireless High Speed Internet Access Added
802.11b Wireless Network Now Connects Client Laptops to T1 Line

(Littleton, MA - November 8, 2001) - Curtis-Straus has now deployed a 2.4GHz wireless network in their laboratory offering clients high speed internet access at rates up to 1.5Mb/s using industry standard IEEE 802.11b cards installed in client laptops. Clients have to provide their own laptop cards, but with prices below $75, Curtis-Straus expects many of their clients to get connected. In today’s engineering workgroup environment where information sharing across physical boundaries is critical to engineering success, this high speed connection allows clients instant access to information across the intranet.

Earlier this summer Curtis-Straus also upgraded our internal information infrastructure with a permanent T1 connection to the internet. Web cameras are available on a limited basis at some test sites so customers can monitor long term tests from their remote offices. Curtis-Straus is committed to deploying the tools and technology to integrate our work product into our client’s engineering process.
